Are we there yet?
We are attempting to determine if a Mexican Driver's License can be used as a Primary ID to satisfy CIP requirements.

We understand that it is ultimately up to us as to if we accept it in that capacity, however we want to hear from others who have decided not to accept it as primary. What caused you to make that decision?

On the same note, if you decided to accept it as Primary, what made you comfortable with that decision?

As you said, whether you accept it or not is totally up to you. Most banks that know have gone to accepting the D/L or Matricular Card or Voter Registration as secondary ID, with a passport as primary.

It is really all about whether you have faith in the issuing agency's vetting process. What care does it take in verifying the identity of the applicant for the document? How sound are its practices?
