Does a bank always have to provide a customer or non-customer cash (currency) when negotiating an onus check regardless of the amount of the check? Is it possibly within the law to only cash checks up to a certain amount. All input appreciated.

One way to discourage some folks (if appropriate) is to say you will give them cash but that in order to provide for your other customers you will do it in the denominations available.
