I am interested in finding out how other banks handle CIP requirements for online account opening. Anyone?

You require the basic CIP information and verify it through non-documentary methods. Any discrepancies should be resolved by the customer presenting photo ID to an employee within a branch.

We still require remittance of an unexpired, government-issued photo ID (as well as a signature on an account application). Our preference is in-person in-branch but we will accept a legible photocopy for ID and signature by mail or docusign or similar.

We still validate through non-documentary methods, and if anything is amiss, then in-person in branch or a notarized signature accompanied by a legible id photocopy is required.

The system we use verifies CIP through the non-documentary ways. We don't require a signature.
