We have a situation where the wrong NMLS Bank number was filed on Loan Closing Documents. The Loan is closed, Deed has been filed. We just found the error. What is our next step? Should we do nothing? Should we change the documents that we can and mail them to the customer explaining the situation? Its understood that even if we change the loan doc's, the deed will always be wrong.

In my state, you can file a corrected Deed. Whether that will "cure" the problem or even be worth the recording charges is anyone's guess.

Lost in a regulatory fog
Curious if anyone has any input on this issue? We discovered for a certain period a single digit in the bank's NMLS number was wrong on all deeds. Loans are sold. I'm guessing we can correct by filing a scrivener's affidavit on each one but would like to know if we have to correct before going through all that trouble.
