Are BCP and disaster recovery a "hot" item for examiners this year. Our IT Department is pushing this really hard.

I would say yes. Some things we are adding to our program: more scrutiny of 3rd parties DR/BCP (setting additional recovery time objectives) and enhanced reporting to the board.

Yes it is one of the critical elements you should be examining right now when dealing with 3rd parties.

I will agree with Gioia. Just finished FDIC exam. Key parts:

Vendor due diligence (is your stuff on someone's cloud?)
Risk and Business Impact Analysis
Pandemic testing
Cyber Policy testing
FACTA

There have been several significant compliance updates that deal directly with BCP and Disaster recovery so make sure you know about them.
In particular:
1. Appendix J - relating to vendor management and relationships with TSP (technical service providers - this doesn't just me IT companies!)
