Are there any legal limits on making unsecured loans? i.e. Can we make a $500,000 unsecured loan, without violating a reg? Our policy does not state any limits. It just states that it must be approved by the loan committee. We just wanted to be sure. Thanks.

You will have a maximum legal lending limit (both unsecured and secured) that is usually set based on a percentage of your unimpaired capital. If you are not aware of this, then contact your regulator for guidance.
