Scaramouch not withstanding (this is NOT a political thread) it is often funny to hear what a person would name or has named their boat. A few of us were sitting around the harbor a couple of weeks ago and noticed that the majority of the fishing boats were named after women. Our assumption was that this was the man's attempt at placating his wife for the bucks and time he spends on his boat (the man who was captian of the Lovely Susan agreed that this was his reasoning after a few beers). So we started discussing, what would you name your boat? And why? We are naming our eventual boat (a 57ft Nordhaven so we can cruise the oceans) Pinot Envy. We figure that this identifies us as good wine drinkers with a sense of humor So what's your boat name?

"Little Devil" because I can only afford a motorboat... Now, if it were truly a yacht: "Miss Behaven"

LOL Buddy, thanks for the warning, we'll avoid asking about the lay away plan when we go shopping. We found a place you can rent the boat we want for a week or two. So next summer we plan on taking a little cruise somewhere in one. The J man has convinced me that there's room for a sewing room on the darned thing, and that we can easily pay for fuel with my quilt sales. (He's nuts but I like to humor him)

My son has a beautiful mahogany RC replica of a 40s Cris Craft that is named "Miss Adventure". I kind of like the double meaning . . .

I'd name it either "Cookie Tosser" or "Cpt. Stubing's Dinghy" I don't have any sea legs . . .

We have two fishing boats; an aluminum 17 foot Lund in Wisconsin and a 20 foot fiberglass Aquasport in Florida. The Lund is called Warp Drive, cause it was so much faster than the row boat we had before it. The Aquasport is called the Knot Nort, since we are not nort, we're sout!

The boat and house is safe, we call our neighbors to check on them regularly, and they, in turn, keep an eye on our property. In fact, Englewood has been missed by all the hurricanes so far! Praise the Lord!

I've never thought about naming a boat...how about "Miss Independent"? (I don't like the song that much but for a single woman's yacht it might work.) Or I could possibly live with "The Seahorse".

I've always wanted a sailboat named "Renegade".
