For those of you out there who have celebrated their 50th birthday, did it it get you down? It's something about thinking you have lived for half a century and knowing you probably won't be around for all of the second half! Anyway, I am going out tonight sing some kareoke and have
2 or 3 or 4 or 5 Margaritas. Hello 49th I am glad I made it!

So it IS your birthday! Congrats...and relax. 50 ain't no big thing.

It was a bit tougher for my husband having to deal with the fact that, if he ever tried to play tournament golf, he'd now be on the Seniors' Tour and not get to play with Tiger.

But seriously, speaking from my experience, once you get over the hill, you really do start to appreciate life more. You don't sweat the small stuff so much. And you can start to ease up on yourself some.

My husband did have an internal tussel when he realized that, as he put it, "this is as far as I'm probably going to go in my career". But just as quickly he realized that this was as far as he WANTED to go in his career. So his golf clubs are always in the trunk of his car now and he's working on his next career...Senior Champ!

Well I had a GREAT Birthday!! My Gamecocks beat Bama!!
I ending up singing 4 songs. I had 4 margaritas. The company I was with was wonderful. 49 is not so bad after all.

It was on the TODAY show all last week: "50 is the new 30"
(It made me feel young - guess I'm still in my 20s!)
