The curse is officially ended! Congratulations to the World Series Champs! What can I say, they were great! Way to go.

A. Bartlett Giamatti, former president of Yale University and former commissioner of baseball, once wrote, "Baseball breaks your heart; it's meant to break your heart." Being a Red Sox fan, he knew whereof he wrote.
Congratulations to the Carmine Hose and their legions of longsuffering fans! For once, autumn in New York has a bitter taste, and it will be the Yankees who endure a winter of discontent. With apologies to Browning, oh, to be in New England, now that joy is there!

Congratulations to the Red Sox. They certainly played better in the series, and deserve the title of "World Champs."
May this be remembered for, oh, say, 86 years.

When the Cubs break their curse - I hope it goes 7 games. I am very very happy for the Red Sox, but a 4 game sweep was strangely anti-climatic for me. Although the result was great, it was a fairly boring series. As much as I loved to see how dejected LaRussa was, his boys got cold at the wrong time and it resulted in a series that only had any drama at all because it was the Sox breaking their curse.

Dave, I think if you ask most Sox fans, we don't think it was boring, there was MAJOR excitement each night, especially last night, I think we all preferred to sweep the cards.

Emergency Rooms and Doctors all over Boston are glad it was a sweep. Each game brought more excitement and the possibility of winning and many more nights could have been fatal for some of the older folks who were alive the last time they BoSox won a championship....

I just wish that my Dad had lived to see this. I am sure he was watching last night drinking a Shaefer(sp?) beer and puffing on a stogie and getting a kick out of his grandkids dancing in the living room at 11:40 PM.

After last year, this Cub fan would love a four game sweep...but I'm not picky, I'd take it any way they could get it!! As long as we really don't have to wait until 2013
