Yes CG, I am female and it is not me. I am not a techie and would never be able to create avatars.

Besides, you're a little busy at the moment.

Just a tad EGB! I guess I shouldn't be on BOL right now. Egads, what was I thinking??? I've got to leave early today to take my son to doctor, very bad cold for 4 weeks now and I'm worried about pneumonia (sp?).

How about BBoyd? Only because his avatar is different and we are running out of ideas, at least I am.

Nikko, just remember, that the dimensions for avatars on BOL are 80 px by 80 px. The rest should be easy if you have access good image editing program.

I use Photoshop 7. I don't even know half of its capabilities but I'm sure it can do what is needed. I'm using it to update my website as well. That is a little trickier.

Nikko, Photoshop 7 will do nicely, and you're right it's way more power than you need to create a lowly avatar. If you want to make an animated avatar, you'll also need Adobe Image Ready. It's probably bundled with Photoshop, but you'll want to create your animation layers in Photoshop and then export them to Image Ready to create the gif file.

I used Photoshop CS to make my avatars. I've never taken the time to figure out how to create a website with Photoshop. I know it can be done, I just don't know how.

Good luck!

P.S. Animated avatars can also be made with Flash or as a Quicktime movie.

Further South than I wanna be.
I know she is female but I have seen Mountain Hawk around lately. You wouldn't happen to be her would you. Anyone else heard from her?

Well Wally are you Mountain?

Princess Ene - for some reason I thought you were a guy??? You are, in fact, female? Just goes to show you can never tell in the virtual world. I got Swimware's gender wrong too...not a very good guesser, I guess...

And here I thought you were a guy! - until I read a thread later on and you confirmed you were a chick! lol

Several Bolers made reference to ENE as a "he" - I figured they'd "figure" it out on their own
