Help, I have examiners here today and they want to talk about safeguarding member information and the risk assessment we perform under this requriement. I am a state chartered credit union. Our state code does not address GLB or BSA or USA Patriot Act so I have been using the NCUA part 748 Guidelines for Safeguarding Member Information to guide me in my handling of these requirements. The examiners are saying I should go with the GLB and BSA since I am a state chartered credit union. Can someone help me please, quickly. Thanks

Since Appendix A of Part 748 is derived straight from the GLB, what specific issues do they have with your safeguarding program? If you are complying with the NCUA guidelines, I can't see where they would have any problems. Now, this really only deals with safeguarding information and there is very little guidance in Part 748 as far as BSA or the USA Patriot Act.
