We filed a SAR on a customer, closed the account, and all was good. We have now received a transaction on the account (we're returned for Account Closed). Should I send an ammended SAR to include this particular transaction, especially if this transaction is also suspicious? (Did that make sense?)

If the specific transaction received was suspicious in nature, I would file another SAR.

If it's only one transaction it would have to be pretty suspicious to bother with. If, for example, it looks like part of a check fraud scheme that would be worth persuing. The other institutions involved are more likely to need to file an SAR than you though, especially if the one transaction is under $5000 (assuming you even have a suspect).

It was suspicious because of possible money laundering and considering that the transaction was to pay off a loan was why I was leaning towards filing an ammended SAR.
I just wasn't sure what the actual requirement would say.
