When a loan (Home Equity in this case) has multi purposes, such as "pay off all debts, general repairs" would we segregate the home improvement portion, or can we go with the primary, or larger use of the money?

You haven't yet received a response so I'll jump in and ask, are you talking HMDA or CRA?

For HMDA, this would be a home improvement loan, period. It doesn't matter how much money is for HI, the whole loan gets reported on your LAR as home improvement.

Sorry, I am not a CRA reporter so I can't help you there.

Thanks alot! This will save me so much time. I'll just do the whole amount. This is technically HMDA. We aren't a reporter, but track these for CRA self-evaluation.
