Could somebody please tell me the different codes? I searched the CRA thread for Reg BB codes but the BOL search engine spit out a bunch of nonsense that would take way too long to sort through. My bank has been coding in a weird way so I want to be sure. Thanks in advance.

I define them a bit more...but basically they're the same as Rie has posted:

CRA Codes

1-Small Business: Commercial Loan Equal to or less than
$$1 Million and is not secured with Farmland or
Residential Property.

2-Small Farm loan: Loan to Farmers, loans secured with
farm land, loans to Commercial Fisherman or those
engaged in the Forestry Industry that is equal to or less
than $500,000.00.

3-A Commercial loan that is equal to or less than $1
Million and is secured with Residential Property.

4-Home Equity Loans, Consumer Home Flex Loans

5-Consumer Loans to purchase a Motor Vehicle

6-Credit Card Consumer Loans

7-Other Secured Consumer Loans

8-Other Unsecured Consumer Loans

9-Other Loan Data, Loan size over 1 Million and or any
loan that does not fit into categories 1 though 8
(excluding HMDA Reportable loans)

Then there are rev codes:

CRA Annual Revenue Code:
1-Gross Annual Revenue used to approve loan is equal to or less than $1 Million.

2-Gross Annual Revenue used to approve loan is greater than $1 Million.

3-Gross Annual Revenue is Unknown (new business) or revenues were not used in credit decision.

4-Gross Annual Revenue is not applicable (used on Consumer Loans exclusively)

I am certain Dawnie intended this, but to clarify: lines of credit are included as reportable as "1" (if otherwise qualified as sbus) or non-reportable (if disqualified as sbus) code 3 or 9 (depending on why disqualified)

Yes Len What really needs to be posted with this code list is a purpose code list...which gives my lenders a code choice depending on the loan purpose/collateral and borrower, and THEN allows them to choose a CRA type code. For instance, a purpose code 191 might give an option of a CRA type 3 or 9, but does not allow for a 1 because it's a loan to a tax exempt entity.

Hopefully no one relies on the 1-9 only They'd be lost if they did. You have to further define via call report or you're going to have serious data integrity issues!
