Just wanting to know from those that are CAMS, did you attend the exam prep seminar prior to sitting for the test? If so, did you feel it was a great benefit? I am planning to sit for the certification next year and need to budget for the prep seminar if I plan to attend. Thanks.

I did not attend the exam prep session, and just did my own reading. A co-worker who did attend a prep session told me that she would have liked it better if there'd been more sample/practice questions worked in to the prep material.

I did an ACAMS exam-prep. Seminar last November in Dubai , We had around 40 partcipants and passing rate among them was 83 %.....so I strongly advice you to attend the Prep. Seminar....and Good Luck

I tried to study the material on my own and found the material a bit overwhelming but did attend the exam prep sessions last year at the ACAMS annual conference. I felt the prep session was very helpful and I did pass the exam!

Where the heart is
I did not attend the prep session and went through the material a number of times. It can be VERY dry reading, but you need to pay attention to all those items with a "light bulb", and also study the FATF recommendations and the Wolfsburg Principals.

I got my results last month - and I PASSED!!!

I did the prep.
What helped most I think was just talking to others that had taken it before and failed.
At the prep they also tell you what to focus on and that was helpful.
Passed.

I am like Bonnie M. I did not not attend the seminar but read and re-read the material (that I obtained from a colleague) for about 2 months. I passed the July 9 exam in NYC.
