I am looking for the timelines to return an item for 2500.00 or larger. The presenting bank must be notified through Fed line when? Local? Non Local? Thanks ahead of time for your assistance.

Do any of you know what the difference is between using FedLine for LDRINS or using EARNS?

It's another web access to do large item returns.

via fed? might be district unique, not in the 6th, 8th, or 11th districts, which is where I deal

It's not through Fed, that I know of. I just know that we get some returns faxed to us through them and one of the banks we deal with uses them....

I've been trying to find the company that does EARNS (Electronic Advance Return Notification System) so I can have it at my bank and I can't find any information. The old bank I worked at did it, but that bank was bought out and the returns are done out of state, so I don't have a contact person to see if they use EARNS or Fed for Large Return Item Notifications. I've been searching here and on Google and haven't found anything helpful...
smcfarland, do you have a name that I can contact that is on the paper from EARNS? I know we used to have a lady call us from there saying that we hadn't picked up our file, but I don't remember her name.
If you have a name, please PM me, I'd REALLY appreciate it and so would my boss!

Check out the DEPOSIT CHEK service from Early Warning Services. Throughout each day, a majority of all returns are contributed to their service by paying banks. Their notification also occurs well in advance of a physical item and often times faster than the EARNS notification.

Unlike EARNS, the DEPOSIT CHEK service is not limited to returns exceeding the $2,500 threshold. This is significant since a vast majority of returns are less than that amount.
