My Workplace
I have researched prior posts discussing email retention requirements. However, I have not been able to conclude whether there are laws that regulates the BANKING industry.

I like Andy's philosophy " If you retain it on paper, then, retain it in bits and bites"...

Bottom line, besides SOX and SEC, are there rules by which FDIC, OCC, OTS will audit banks?

Andy will definitely correct me if I'm wrong...however I think that the FDIC and OCC defer to SoX requirements. I'm not sure about NCUA and OTS though.

If SOX or SEC rules apply you'd have to follow them. Otherwise, I've not seen anything specific to email. Rather it is by topic, such as would go into your CRA files.

Retaining this means you need a good system to find it.
