At our bank a customer will open a new account at a New Accts Desk and the New Accts person will take the deposit to the teller line to get a receipt. We have the FDIC signs at the teller window, but in this scenario should a sign also be at the New Accts desk?

You'll probably be TECHNICALLY correct to omit a sign at the desk because the deposit is accepted at the teller line. But you will never get written up for having the FDIC sign at the new accounts desk (unless you also sell NDIPs there).

This is splitting hairs, so it would always be safe to have the signs, but technically, I don't believe you are accepting a deposit at the New Accounts Desk. Therefore, you don't need a sign there.
