Under the NOW account rules, it specifies Mutual Insurance companies as not being eligible for these accounts. What about the county Farm Bureau?? This is a non-profit organization. TN Farmers Mutual is the company selling the insurance. They rent the building, etc, from Farm Bureau. Is our county "Farm Bureau" NOW account eligible?

Ask the Farm Bureau if it is a tax-exempt organization, and whether it can provide you a copy of its tax-exempt determination letter from the IRS. If so, look in the letter for the paragraph of the Internal Revenue Code under which the exemption was granted. Then look in Section 204.130(c) of Regulation D to see if organizations granted exemption under that part of the Code are qualified for NOW ownership.
