Our account opening personnel open accounts at their desk(s),then walk the customer's opening deposit to the teller window to complete the transaction.
Does the account opening desk require a FDIC insurance sign? 328.2 states the official sign should be displayed "at each station or window where insured deposits are usually and normally received in the depository institution's principal place of business" I'm thinking the station is the teller window. Even though the customer may hand the deposit to the account opening employee at their desk, the employee still has to go to the teller window to make the deposit.

If the new account rep. accepts the deposit - that is where it happens. The fact that he/she delivers it to a teller is moot.
