If you have a Certificate of Deposit with two parties, are you required to have both parties sign the paperwork? We have always been told that if you have John OR Jane then only one is required to get the CD and one is only required to cash it in, usually the primary owner. Any references of REGS or things that will tell us what the proper way is to do this? I would appreciate the help!! Thank you!

If you don't have all the signatures on the front end, how will you verify ownership on the back end if they want to cash it in?

Also, as I recall, FDIC insurance depends on signatures.
