Our bank is based in South Carolina and shortly we will open our first branch in Georgia. My question is regarding lending. Do we follow South Carolina law because we are based in SC or Georgia law? Will we have additional or different disclosures? We have been advised by our document supplier that loan documentation will not change.

Thank you in advance for any input.

Rabbit - Is your institution an S&L? I'm guessing it is, but want to be sure.

Originally an S&L but now a federally chartered bank regulated by OTS.

I know you're going to hate to hear this, but "it depends". Be mindful of usury laws and laws related to real estate closings such as GRMA fees.

I suggest you repost in the Alabama and Florida boards to see what other S&Ls (aka Federal Thrifts) from other states are doing.
