Dave, the only time I would listen to a Celine Dion song is if Tool or Megadeth or any other hard rock band did a cover of it.

That's what I figured! For what it's worth, even though Barbra Streisand made my list, I wouldn't go see Celine Dion in vegas if someone gave me free airfare and front row seats.

I would take the free ride to Vegas, sell my tickets and gamble the money.

Then check the local paper to see if Tool is in town.

In no particular order...
1) Fragile by Yes
2) Tchailovsky Piano Concerto No 1 as performed by Van Cliburn
3) Adventures in Time by Dave Brubeck
4) Chicago Transit Authority by Chicago
5) This Strange Engine by Marillion
6) So by Peter Gabriel
7) Dvorak's Symphony No 9 as performed by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra
8) Magnification by Yes
9) Child Is Father To The Man by Blood, Sweat and Tears
10) Tales of Mystery and Imagination by The Alan Parsons Project
I really don't have any Greatest Hits, so if I can indulge in two box sets:
11) Time Signatures by Dave Brubeck
12) YesYears by Yes

Too Far From the Beach
Did I miss something here? Island and no Buffet?????

This is tough - there is so much good stuff that I would miss so I'll just rattle some off the top of my head. (and since others have broken the rules – I will too)

Rampal & Stern – Mozart
Any top symphony – Vivaldi Four Seasons
The Andrews Sisters - any recording
Bing Crosby – any recording but particularly White Christmas
Rock Roll & Rhythm - (late 50's early 60's of the good stuff from Rhino)
Beach Boys – Endless Summer
The Temptations – Greatest Hits
Kenny G – Duotones (yeah Z I like G )
Jimmy Buffet – Last Mango in Paris
Jimmy Buffet – Songs You Know by Heart
Jimmy Buffet – Hot Water
Jimmy Buffet – Off to See the Lizard
Alan Jackson – Drive
Toby Keith – Unleashed
Patty Loveless – Strong Heart

I'm sorry, I really tried. I guess I just will not be available for "stranded" status - I simply must have more than 12.

I already posted my picks for the island..... but just have to comment on who I would NOT want. I was at a concert this past weekend and thought the preformance of Limp Bisket was outrageous and uncalled for. They are the last warm up band for Metallica for the Summer Sanitorium Tour. The lead singer made several caustic remarks about this fact and had to have quit before their set was finished. This forced the crowd to wait an hour, when the break in between all the other bands was only 30 minutes. Of course this left a mostly college age crowd to their own devices for far too long!
