I understand if a person is a signer on a corporate account and that person has no other relationship with the bank and they open a personal account that the personal account would be subject to the new-account exception rule.
What if a person has an existing DBA account with the bank and he/she opens a personal account, is the personal account subject to the new-account exception?
My first thought was no.
The personal account would not be subject to the new-account exception. This individual is using their name and SSN on the DBA. Am I incorrect??
