New FREE Digital Photo Organizing software
If you have large numbers of digital photos (or if you are involved in marketing and have lots of graphics on your computer), go download Picasa -- it's free software available from Google that allows you to organize your digital media files. The download is super-quick, but if you have tons of photos on your computer and tell it to index them all, go to lunch and come back. It could take a while. It's worth it, however. This is one powerful piece of software that will make it easy to quickly locate just the photo your looking for, view slide shows, make quick edits and more. I spent HOURS with it this weekend. It's the best new software I've used in a long time.

I was recently doing a gadget review
and had to add some comments here on some of my "toys". Actually
this is serious stuff because writing about them here may not make them
tax deductible, but it helps when I justify them to my wife. : )
Apples iPod is great for
digital audio, but can also work as an external hard drive. I prefer the iPod
to the mini-iPod because the cost per meg of storage data is so much lower. The
mini has a kewl factor, but based on the price as I write this, the iPod is
$1.94 per meg, the mini is $6.07. These play music back to you via headphones,
ear buds or external speakers. You can also record audio with the right
attachment.
Canon's Digital Rebel is
a 6 mega pixel single lens reflex camera that I just love. It is in the
prosumer category so you need to be a bit serious about taking quality
pictures. I just started this and it is a lot of fun. Plus, it gives you a
reason to get away from the computer, as well as to come back to it. Digital
pictures are much more interesting to me than those with costly film. You can
touch them up in the digital darkroom and Photoshop Elements comes with the
Digital Rebel.
Canon's Powershot A80 is
a kewl little 4 mega pixel camera. Easy to carry with you, takes great photos
and it does AVI movies. These short movies are great for your computer viewing
and your system likely came with the software to edit them, add titles and dress
them up. These are great for the family as well as work. If you review
collateral, get pictures, get a video. Add them to the customer file as well as
your presentations within your bank. A picture is worth a thousand words. A
video is worth more. I carry it by itself and with my bigger Digital Rebel
