Titling a loan to a sole proprietorship
Answer by Mary Beth Guard and John Burnett, BOL Gurus
Guru BIOS

Question: What is the correct procedure for titling a loan to sole proprietorship?

Answer: In the name of the individual owner. You may add a “caption” indicating the name of the business if you wish, but the loan is to the individual.

The original version appeared in the September/October 2004 edition of the Oklahoma Bankers Association Compliance Informer.
