Question: In reading section 328.3(b)(1) of the FDIC Rules & Regulations, it appears the the FDIC coroprate symbol can be used in an ad without the word "member" preceding it - "The short title "Member of FDIC" OR "Member FDIC," or a reproduction of the symbol of the Corporation (as described in § 328.1(b)), may be used by insured depository institutions at their option as the official advertising statement." Am I interpreting this correctly?
Answer: Yes. Just remember that the corporate symbol is the same as the official sign, but with the left third, more or less, removed.
