Conservatorship Rights
by John Burnett, BOL Guru

Question: When does a conservatorship end and if it isn't at death, what rights remain post death?
Answer: A conservatorship is a creation of a court and it ends (1) when the court terminates it, because the circumstances have changed, (2) when one of the parties. the conservator or the conservatee, dies, or (3) the conservator resigns. If the conservatee (the protected party) dies, the property being managed is part of the conservatee's estate. If the conservator dies or resigns, the court typically appoints a new conservator.
