Expiration of Cashier’s Check?
Answer by Ken Golliher, BOL Guru
Guru Bio

Question:  Does a cashier's check ever expire?

Answer:  The concept of being stale dated does not apply to a cashier's check. Legally, it is a permanent obligation of the bank. Nevertheless, it is common that, after a period of several years, state law would require the bank to escheat outstanding cashier's checks to the state as abandoned property.
