What does 'et al' Mean?
Answer by John Burnett, BOL Guru Guru Bio
Question: If a customer requests to add 'et al' behind his and another account holders name, what do we need and what does it mean?
Answer: 'Et al' is a short form of et alii, which is Latin for 'and others'. It might be appropriate as part of the title of an account if in fact the ownership of the account includes others not named. Such might be the case, for example, if an account is jointly owned by six individuals and the constraints of the computer system is that there can only be two of those individuals listed in the computer record.
