Account Closing – Pay Check to Signer or Business?
Answer by John Burnett, BOL Guru Guru Bio
Question: When closing a business account, to whom do you make the closing cashier’s check payable: the business or an authorized signer?
Answer: You should make the check to close the account payable to the business, as the owner of the account. That discharges the bank's responsibility to the account owner. The signer is not the owner.
