Banker's Knowledge of Customer
Answered by BOL Gurus Mary Beth Guard and Jack Holzknecht Bios
Question: Did we hear that if a banker knows the customer and knows they moved that is sufficient to document the address discrepancy?
Answer: The banker must form a reasonable belief that the consumer report relates to the consumer about whom it requested the report. It must also confirm an address is accurate. One method of doing so is to verify the information directly with the consumer.
