Auto Dealers and the FTC
Answered by BOL Gurus Mary Beth Guard and Jack Holzknecht Bios
Question: In relation to Dealer Paper, are auto dealers actually examined for compliance by the FTC?
Answer: No. FTC lacks the manpower. It typically gets involved in response
to complaints. It then commences an investigation, which may result in enforcement action. Also, if a lawsuit is filed against an entity regulated by FTC, emanating out of something like an FCRA provision, the FTC could get
involved.
