This month, we focus the guru spotlight on Gerard P. Panaro, Esq. , who is Of Counsel with the law firm Howe & Hutton, Ltd. He was the author of Employment Law Manual (2d ed), Warren Gorham & Lamont, 1989 (2d ed, 1993). He is the author of the book Pregnancy & Childcare Issues in the Workplace (Executive Enterprises Publications Co., Inc., 1987), and "Fair Employment Practices Guidelines" (Aspen Publishers). He served as Editor of Leave and Disability Compliance Alert (1999-2000).
Mr. Panaro received a B.A., magna cum laude in 1971 from University of Scranton, a Ph.D. from Boston College in 1975, and a J.D. from Georgetown University in 1977. He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and Maryland State Bar Association. His practice areas are Employment Law and Nonprofit Organizations.
He will be presenting a BOL Learning Connect Webinar, How to Investigate Sexual Harassment Complaints, on January 25, 2006.

With the start of a new year, you sometimes wish all the old problems would go away and you could start fresh. That doesn't happen, but some old Tools that make your compliance life easier have been updated for 2006.
The Reg. CC Availability Calendar will help you determine, based on the business day of deposit, when funds should be available based on your hold type. This Excel tool works on the PC and has a printable section as well.
The Rescission Calendar is another Excel tool that requires only your loan date. Holidays and weekends are built into a macro so you immediately know when funds can be distributed.
Both these tools may be used to determine dates in TexTrainer advance, and after the fact in your auditing and monitoring process.
