John Burnett Named Most Valuable Guru for June
Each month at BOL, we recognize the guru selected from last month's list of guru-contributed articles and answers most frequently referred by our readers, using the "Email this Article" feature found on all the pages on the site.
 This month, we are proud to present our "Most Valuable Guru" award to one of our own, John Burnett, a member of the BankersOnline team since 2004. An honors graduate from ABA's Stonier Graduate School of Banking and a graduate of the BAI and the Massachusetts Banker Association Schools of Banking, John climbed through the ranks from a young teller to Compliance Officer to board

Three new tools were added to the Banker Tools section during May.
T. Houston Technology Group provided an extensive vendor due diligence checklist which will also help you define the attributes you want from your Merchant Check Capture program. The checklist covers products that convert checks to images, or to ARC ACH format (or both), and provides a systematic way to compare the products of two or more vendors.
Stout & Deines, Inc. responded to a call for measurable security standards in an Information Technology policy. This one page investigative document has four key questions to denote where you want to be on security standards.
Flood insurance reviews have been a compliance hot topic for several years and promise to be in the future. Knowing that those who "do" compliance are responsible for it, Brad Bullock of First National Bank of Midland used existing resources from BOL and others and put together a 30-slide Flood Training PowerPoint presentation to use in his bank for training.
