Cedular Card
Answer by Andy Zavoina and Ken Golliher, BOL Gurus Guru Bios
Question: I was told that we can accept a cedular card as ID for CIP purposes. What exactly is a cedular card?
Answer by Andy Zavoina: A cedular card is a personal identification card issued by foreign governments, particularly in Latin America and Spain, to citizens above a certain age (not minors) and within certain categories (excluding certain classifications of citizens, e.g., military).
Answer by Ken Golliher: Agreed. The cedular card has been on the acceptable identification list for a CTR for some time. Attendees at the programs I do in Miami are familiar with them, but once you get as far north as Orlando, a mention of the cedular card generates some pretty confused looks.
Unless you live in a part of the country where they are common, how would you know whether it was valid? Anyone in the U.S. who has a cedular card had to have a passport to get here. My suggestion is to insist on that instead.
