Census data is out there, but it's nice to have it organized for you. Here is the 2005 Estimated Median Family Income.

If you are looking for the income, income classification by the tracts and HUD's 2005 medium family income amounts in your market, or where you are considering going, this is the data you are looking for. These are broken into seven files, alphabetically by state. These are available in the Acrobat .pdf format.
