Retrieving Data from Old Media

Question: Our bank purchased check imaging, document imaging and COLD about eight years ago and have documents and reports stored on old optical drives, tapes and CDs. While we don't need to access that information frequently, we have had optical drives fail and several pieces of media appear to be unreadable. I am concerned that we will be unable to meet the document lifecycle standards set by recently mandated legislation. Any ideas?
Answer: An outsource service can migrate the contents of the old media onto more current media that typically has much higher density. This in turn results in needing far fewer media. This will also allow you to purchase more current technology to read the new media and mitigate the risk of information loss and the inability to comply with mandated archive standards.
DataTrade provides the finance industry with digital to digital conversion services for document images, check images, COLD reports and data. DataTrade is expert in this field having converted terabytes of assorted content, typically from encrypted, compressed and proprietary formats to industry standard formats that can easily be imported into new systems technology.
