Town and Country Bank, Stephenville, Texas, has contacted the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) to report that counterfeit cashier's checks bearing the institution's name are in circulation.

The counterfeit items display the routing number 111907555, which is assigned to Town and Country Bank. The items are similar to authentic cashier's checks; however, there is no apostrophe in the word "CASHIERS" in the lower-left corner of the counterfeit items. In addition, the counterfeit items have a white and pink marble background, a security feature statement is boxed and centered inside a burgundy top border, and the phrase "AUTHORIZED SIGNATURE" is centered beneath two signature lines.

Authentic cashier's checks display a "VOID" background when copied. The word "SIGNATURE" is left-justified below two signature lines.

Copies of a counterfeit item and an authentic check (VOID) are attached for your review. Be aware that the appearance of counterfeit items can be modified and that additional variations may be presented.
