Reject Repair - Quickly!

BancTec, Inc., an item processing developer, announced a new system to repair rejects.

Traditionally, reject items have to be prepped, stripped, a new MICR line added, be re-encoded, sorted and resent, requiring handling three times before the item is finally processed.

The BancTec system can correct data, apply heat strips and encoding in a single operation, then resend the check through. BancTec claims their system can complete half of daily reject volume with no operator intervention.
