Encouraging Entrepreneurial Spirit

A project that a small, New England community bank supports won the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston's 1999 Community Development Award. The Women's Rural Entrepreneurial Network project, which Passumpsic Bank helped to create, was given the award for efforts in supporting women in northern New Hampshire that want to start their own businesses. The project was initially a program of training in areas such as business plans, marketing, financial management and computer literacy. It quickly expanded, however, to include networking, career planning, technology training, and a working capital group.
