Consider new lending programs that address the specific needs of your current or future customers. For example, if you are aware of plans to renovate older residential neighborhoods in your community, you may want to consider a home improvement loan program that specifically designed for that purpose. Customer trends and needs can be determined from surveys conducted by the bank or independent sources such as chambers of commerce, neighborhood associations and universities. A new program can be offered on a pilot basis at one or two locations to determine if the information is correct.
