Is Your Employee Contact Info Current?
by Mary Beth Guard, BOL Guru
A bank in our area recently went through a scary attempted robbery where the would-be thief was holding what he claimed to be an explosive device and also carrying a gun. In the ensuing commotion, the robber was shot by the security guard and local media descended on the premises immediately.
The affected bank employees were taken out to cars where they were interviewed by police and FBI agents. Meanwhile, however, the news crews were getting the story all wrong, saying on air that some employees had perhaps been taken hostage and that the area was being cordoned off because of possible danger from a bomb inside.
Bank officers scrambled to quickly contact the family members of the employees to assure them the danger was over and the employees were safe. Unfortunately, they got a quick lesson in the necessity for keeping employee information/contact forms where they may be easily accessed and the necessity of constantly updating those forms.
Learn from their lesson. Establish a workable routine for updating your employee information. Don't have a form? Click over to Banker Tools. You'll find two different options there!
