Any Bonds Today?

If you have customers who ask how to check on U.S. Savings Bonds that are lost, or on which they need information, there is a central contact number.

If the information needed is present worth or rates, or other general facts, you will want to refer your customer to your local Federal Reserve Bank. Tell them to ask for the Savings Bond Department.

If they need other specific information, such as verification of ownership, whether the bond has been retired or redeemed, or other facts concerning lost bonds, etc., they will not be able to get such information over the telephone. Their request should then be in writing.

Our contact at the Federal Reserve Bank said for the quickest response your customer should write to:

Bureau of the Public Debt
Savings Bond Operations Office
Bond Consultant Branch
200-3rd Street
Parkersburg, WV 26102
