Make My Day!

I have had several calls during the past few months from subscribers who want to know if they can use material or articles out of the Hotline for their in-house publication.

I must admit there is a slight personal disappointment that they don't want permission to copy these editorials.

But no matter, I don't mind-much.

To answer all who have called, and to inform those who may be new to our subscription list...Our job is to make your job easier.

We state in our purpose on the back of each issue in the last phrase, "...To assemble all in a USABLE format..."

Our intention in choosing that wording was to imply permission for any of our subscribers to use the material in each HOTLINE in whatever way serves them best.

If you just want to copy the issue as-is, and distribute it, that's your easiest use of the HOTLINE.If you want to rewrite articles, leaving out or adding information, they become your articles. One subscriber just sent us a copy of his in-house newsletter where he had rewritten a page on new accounts, adding particular information that applies to his savings bank.
If you want to cut out articles and use them just as they are in the newsletter-have at it! You are welcome to do so. Several very large financial institutions get the HOTLINE in their publications and communications departments and do just that, aiming the articles at particular departments in their once a week, one page publication.

Some smaller banks, thrifts and credit unions copy each BANKERS' HOTLINE issue and then cut up the copies, rearranging the articles they want distributed and combining them with their own news and communications.

We only ask that you give us credit, even if it is in very tiny print. And we really enjoy seeing copies of your newsletters and communications. They make my day!

If using any part of the HOTLINE makes your job easier-then we've done ours. That's one of the reasons we're in business.

Of course, if you'd like original, autographed reprints of the editorials, be sure and let me know.
