Pandora's Box
The speaker was holding forth on how easy life is with electronic banking. "Turn on your PC," he said, "Open your bills, type in your access code, type in your creditors and their addresses, and the amounts to be paid. Then press a 'send' key. That's it! Your bills are all paid. Your bank will probably charge you for the computer access and billpaying service about $12 or so a month. You don't even have to buy stamps, because your bank pays the postage."
The Marketing Officers in the room smiled and imagined all sorts of campaigns and new sales.
The Security Officers imagined things too-and found nothing to smile about.
