"If You Use An ATM At Night, Take A Friend..."
The banks in New York City are spending $2 million saturating the city for 12 weeks with ATM safety ads on TV and on color posters in subway cars, buses and bus shelters.
New York City, which has the most strict ATM legislation in the country, hopes to educate ATM users and so cut down on crime. One of the TV ads gets its point across with comedy. It finishes with, "Your best defense against ATM crime is your mind-and really bad breath."
