In some of our articles, you may learn of a new product or service being offered, or learn about a consultant who has achieved something remarkable. When we find out about some of these things, we pass the news on to you.

We've written in the past few months about Dave McGuinn's Safe Deposit Policy and Procedure books, which we reviewed. And we passed along information about stainless steel mirrors on ATMs, brought to our attention by Barry Schreiber, that we felt was new and interesting to our subscribers who have ATMs.Your response has evidently been impressive! Both David McGuinn of Safe Deposit Specialists in Texas, and Don Softness of SecureVue Stainless Steel ATM Security Mirrors in New York called our offices to tell us they have had calls from all over the country about their products.

When we attend banking conferences during the year put on by the major associations, we spend many hours reviewing products and information in the exhibit halls. And usually bring home about 12 pounds of literature, (along with the pens, letter openers, scratch pads and golf tees!) We don't have to tell you how banking is changing and how quickly. But we try to save you time by reviewing some of what's new. If we think what we learn will be of some value to you, we pass it along.

We also listen to you when you tell us about something you're using that is particularly helpful, and we often pass that information along to our readers. Don't hesitate to call us if you're impressed by a product, service, or company.

Our advisors do their part, too-by keeping us up to date on what's new in each of their areas. It helps us have a broader review.

We're often approached by vendors and manufacturers asking us for ad space in the HOTLINE. We don't accept advertising, so you won't find ads in your newsletter. We'll tell you about products, but we won't advertise them. That helps in keeping our reporting completely unbiased. Our job is to keep you informed, not sell you something.

Be assured, if you read an article about a product or service in the BANKERS' HOTLINE, it is not purchased space, nor is it necessarily our recommendation. It's there only to help keep you informed about availability. It's up to you to do further investigation and evaluation.
