Surprise Ending

The technician finished servicing the ATM in St. George, Utah, tossed his tool box in the back of his pickup, and took off. He was in a hurry because he needed to reach his own bank in a neighboring town before it closed, in order to make a deposit into his checking account.

Throwing his tools onto the seat, he drove away, unfortunately forgetting that he had placed the open cassette from the ATM in the back of his pickup truck, meaning to secure it before he left. Motorists soon noticed flying $20 bills and picked up about $3,000 worth by the time the tec
hnician parked in Washington City and realized what was happening.

The surprise ending? All but a few hundred dollars was recovered.
