A Simplified Process

Community banks now have a new option for saving steps in check processing through equipment that can read, image, and process checks and deal with rejects all in one step.

The X-series from BancTec does not use a separate stripper process to deal with rejects. Instead, it analyzes checks as the images are taken, identifying check traits that could lead to processing errors and then sending potential problems to operators to rectify. The processing and correction is done at one, V-shaped desk. The system also automatically completes 50 percent of the daily reject volume by in-line stripping with no operator intervention.
